How does international research cooperation begin? How do new research methods emerge, and how are connections forged that last a lifetime? Sometimes, it all starts with a scholarship. This year’s recipients of the University of Tartu Seventh Pillar Fund scholarship, history master’s student Marie Anna Blehner and pharmacy student Janeli Lember, will use the grant to go abroad to study and represent Estonia, and later bring the knowledge and experience back home.

On 1 December, the 106th anniversary of Estonia’s national university, 142 doctoral degrees were conferred.

Starting from March 24, it is possible to apply for the position of a student representative of the University of Tartu, both faculty and institute.

Doctoral studies offer the chance to become an expert in a narrow field while also developing the skills of making connections and the ability to process information, manage challenging projects, learn from criticism, and, at the same time, manage time efficiently.

The mentoring programme will be held again this autumn semester, welcoming students, alumni and university staff to apply until 23 September.

The Institute of Pharmacy of the University of Tartu (UT) will open a new study class on April 12, which will create new opportunities for pharmaceutical studies.

The programme aims to bring together active students and successful alumni to provide an opportunity for mutually beneficial collaboration and strengthen the university's sense of community.
